It’s not only schools across the Denver area that are closing in anticipation of heavy snow on Wednesday night through Thursday. With 10-20 inches of snow expected in the metro area – and as much as 24 inches in some regions – everything from rec centers to government offices will shut down, too.

Here’s what we know so far:

  • Cherry Creek Dam Road will close at 1 a.m. on Thursday due to the impending snowstorm. The road will remain closed until further notice, according to a press release from the county. The county recommends that drivers use Interstate 225 or South Parker Road.
  • City of Littleton offices and facilities will be closed Thursday and anticipate reopening at 10 a.m. on Friday. This includes the Littleton Center, Bemis Public Library, the Littleton Museum, and Littleton Municipal Court. 
  • Farms at the Littleton Museum will remain closed until further notice due to anticipated heavy snow accumulation.
  • City of Centennial offices, including the Municipal Court, are closed for in-person services on Thursday. Services remain available virtually and by calling 303-325-8000.
  • Highlands Ranch Community Association recreation centers will be closed Thursday. These include Northridge at 8800 Broadway, Southridge at 4800 McArthur Ranch Road, Eastridge at 9568 University Blvd. and Westridge at 9650 Foothills Canyon Road. 
  • Colorado High School Activities Association offices in Aurora closed Thursday.
  • Evergreen Park and Recreation District facilities closed Thursday and Friday. 
  • The Denver Art Museum will be closed Thursday. 
  • City of Englewood facilities, including the Civic Center, municipal court, recreation centers and library will be closed Thursday. The Englewood Trolley will not be running. If you have a court date on Thursday, March 14, it has been moved to the same time on Monday, March 18 (court number 303-762-2580 to reschedule). “Please note, failure to appear on Monday or to contact the court to make arrangements on your case, may result in an arrest for failure to appear,” the city stated. The city will open services later, at 10 a.m., on Friday.
  • Denver’s city and county offices, Denver Public Library branches and the city’s rec centers all will be closed on Friday, March 15.
  • City of Lakewood offices will be closed Thursday due to the inclement weather. This includes the Lakewood Parks and Recreation centers.
  • Lakewood’s Quail Street Recycling Center will be closed Thursday. A delayed opening is planned for Friday, March 15. The time will be updated later.
  • Arapahoe County government offices will be closed Friday, March 15, due to snow. Many services provided can be accessed on the County’s website at www.arapahoeco.gov.
