Jefferson County and ADK Consulting and Executive Search are inviting tenants of Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport to a meeting at 11 a.m. Feb. 26 in the Mt. Evans Room of the airport terminal to talk about recruiting a new director for the facility.

Paul Anslow left his position as RMMA director in November after disparaging comments he made about neighbors of the airport were disclosed to county officials.

Anslow called people critical of airport operations “nut jobs” and dismissed their concerns about airport noise, according to a 2021 transcript of a private conversation given to KUNC News as part of a public records request.

Three weeks after Anslow left, four of the six members of the airport advisory board resigned in protest of Anslow’s reported firing.

Jefferson County hired executive recruiters ADK Consulting to lead in the search for a new director, according to a county news release. Anslow was paid $154,000 a year as director of the airport, which is owned by Jefferson County.

Before advertising Anslow’s old slot, ADK will meet with airport stakeholders in the coming weeks to gain feedback toward the recruitment brochure, the news release states.

The Feb. 26 meeting will include a brief presentation about the recruitment process. ADK will be seeking feedback from airport tenants about what qualities are most important for the new airport director, the news release states.

After the posting of the recruitment brochure, the selection and hiring process is estimated to take about three months, according to the news release.
