Weld Sheriff's deputies searching for trailer thieves

Surveillance camera spotted the suspects in Westminster


FORT LUPTON -- Weld County sheriff's deputies are looking for two men who may have stolen an air compressor trailer.

The theft occurred early March 19 at an oil-and-gas location near Weld county roads 6 and 19, according to deputies. The trailer, an orange 2014 Sullivan D90 model, is worth more than $15,000.

Sheriff's office spokesman Joe Moylan said a gas station surveillance camera spotted the two suspects in Westminster, towing the trailer with a black, 1990s Chevrolet 1500 or similar style pickup.

Moylan said the driver is Latino of average height and build who was last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue pants, a gray baseball cap and black shoes. The passenger is a white man, tall with an athletic build, last seen wearing a black COVID-19 gaiter, a dark jacket, dark pants and white shoes.
