State 5A soccer playoffs beckons Legacy HS

Legacy High School will tgake its 8-2 record into the first round of the state 5A soccer playoffs. 

The Lightning visit Valor Christian at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 15. The winner gets either Rocky Mountain or Regis Jesuit in the quarterfinals later in the week.

The Lightning's leading scorer (through six games) was Julianna Hayward. The junior midfielder had nine goals and 24 total points. Paige Armstrong was close behind with eight goals and 22 points. Kylie Hoffman totaled six goals and 15 points.

The Eagles are 9-0-1 this season and 6-0-1 in the Jefferson County League. Sophomore Jo Sees leads the Eagles in scoring with eight goals. Lauren Miurande is next with five. Goalkeeper Keeley Koroonenberg has a goals-against average of 0.3 and has made 33 saves this saeson.
