State 4A volleyball thread -- Holy Family


COLORADO SPRINGS -- Holy Family split its four matches at this year's class 4A state volleyball tournament at the Broadmoor Arena.

The Tigers upset Erie 25-17, 20-25, 25-17, 25-21 in the first round Nov. 11. No stats were immediately available.

The Tigers moved into the second round and a match with second-seeded Cheyenne Mountain High School. CMHS won that contest 25-15, 25-21, 20-25, 25-9. The Red-Tailed Hawks' Karlee Pinell had 11 kills. Anna Blamires added 10. Kloe May served three aces. No stats were available for the Tigers.

Holy Family stayed alive with a 25-16, 25-16, 22-25, 25-21 over Palisade in a consolation round match Nov. 12. Ella Yanowich and Addie Ritterbush led the Bulldogs with 12 kills. Kyra Birch added 10. No stts were available for Holy Family.

Mead eliminated the Tigers with a straight-set win late Nov. 12. No stats were available for either team.

HFHS finished the season with a record of 18-11.
