PUEBLO -- Holy Family opened the state 4A double-elimination playoffs by beating Lewis-Palmer 12-2 June 18. No stats were available for either team.
The Tigers faced D'Evelyn Junior/Senior High School in a championship bracket game and came out on top 12-3.
Ponderosa scored seven runs in the seventh inning and picked up a come-from-behind 14-11 win over the Tigers June 19. Holy Family squandered a pair of five-run leads.
Skyler Ahern's three-run home finished off the seventh-inning comeback. Dom Lopez also contributed a three-run double.
Holy Family scored five times in the first inning. Izaak Siefken had a three-run double. Jaden Delgado accounted for the other first-inning runs with a double.
Connor Cooney, Ryan Chacon and Blake Hammond had two hits for Holy Family. Kolton Miller and Brady Ingalls had two hits for Ponderosa.
The loss dropped the Tigers into a Friday, June 25, semifinal contest against either D'Evelyn or Cheyenne Mountain. First pitch is set for 12:30 p.m.
