The shots struck the outside of the house, and nobody was injured, said Deputy John Bartmann, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.
The incident occurred at about 3 a.m. Jan. 27 within a few blocks of Himalaya Street and Chenango Avenue, according to Bartmann.
The sheriff’s office identified a “vehicle of interest” in the case: It appears to be an early 2000s model Chevrolet Express conversion van, the sheriff’s office said in a tweet.
“This van has unique offset center and rear windows as well as a decal or (stripe) running the length of the van,” the tweet said.
There isn’t a known reason why someone in the van would fire shots at the home, Bartmann said.
Images of the van were picked up by a doorbell camera or security camera, Bartmann said.
Anyone who can identify the vehicle or recognizes the vehicle is asked to contact Investigator Bojczuk at mbojczuk@arapahoegov.com. Those who wish to remain anonymous may do so by contacting the sheriff’s office tip line at 720-874-8477.
