Miners Alley Playhouse actor Jihad Milhem won Best Actor in Play at the recent Henry Awards.
Milhem won for his performance as John Proctor in "The Crucible" last October. The Miners Alley production received four other Henry Award nominations, including Best Production of a Play.
Miners Alley Playhouse congratulated Milhem on its Facebook page, saying his Henry Award win was well-deserved.
"Congratulations to all of the other nominees and winners as well!" the organization stated. "It was a great night of celebration!"
Len Matheo, the playhouse’s producing artistic director, has described previously how the Henry Awards are Colorado's version of the Tony Awards. Theater companies and actors from all over the Denver area, Colorado Springs and beyond were celebrated during the July 25 ceremony.
