We will not lie, steal, or cheat, nor tolerate among us anyone who does. If the Herald publishes this letter, it will be the second or third time I have been published where I quoted the Air Force Academy’s cadet wing honor code. Although I have taken the Air Force oath twice, only the Academy’s code stands out.
I wonder, if voters were required to memorize this honor code, how many of us could vote? Not me, as the word tolerate would trip me up. I wouldn’t be alone as almost every Douglas County Republican tolerated, and would die for, Donald John Trump. As a Douglas County resident for 46 years and I can say, without reservation, that if we only voted the honesty and ethics we claim to have, the county clerk could function with a part-time staff every election cycle.
