I am so proud to have Abe Laydon as county commissioner representing my district. Over the last few years, Commissioner Laydon was a leader in opening Douglas County so local businesses wouldn’t continue to suffer from overreaching mandates. He worked with the school district and health department to make life better as quickly as possible for people dealing with mental stress and financial hardship brought on by government overreach.
When the decision regarding water from the San Luis Valley was announced in May, I had no doubt he would deliver a decision rooted in the same integrity he has always displayed. I respect how he spoke with people on both sides of the issue, he received advice from trusted counsel, and then took his time making the best decision for all parties involved.
It is his history of sound decisions and selfless leadership that has built trust. When he investigates something, I trust he always has the best interest of Douglas County top of mind. We are truly blessed he has decided to run for county commissioner again to continue to serve our community.
Thank you, Commissioner Laydon, for showing integrity in politics is not only possible but should be the standard to which we hold all our government officials accountable.
