Thank you to our community members who wrote informed letters in the July 23-24 papers. I had been very disheartened at the commissioners’ decisions and responses to the ongoing health crisis in our county.
Yes, our citizens have largely done what is necessary to keep our friends and families safe, but we are still facing a crisis, and health-focused leadership will assist this community in best results. I am finding hope and some encouragement in hearing that many others share this concern and are willing to speak up and stand up for what our community requires during these challenging times.
I quote C.S. Steinhaus in her/his letter, “Please contact the Douglas County Board of Commissioners and ask that they retract their letter indicating their intent to leave Tri-County Health Department” (email@example.com).
