Three candidates have made the final cut to run for CU Board of Regents, representing District 6 run in the November election. These include Ilana Spiegel (Democrat), Richard Murray (Republican) and Robert Worthey (Unity Party). However, only one of these is positioned to address the pressing issue of racial disparity facing the University of Colorado and the entire country.
The lack of diversity and inclusivity have been longstanding challenges for CU. The problem is heightened by the absence of transparency in the hiring of Republican Congressman Mark Kennedy, who has a troubling record of anti-civil rights voting.
Democratic CU regent candidate Ilana Spiegel has long advocated for opportunity, inclusivity, affordability and accessibility for everyone. With years of experience in education and a strong background in minority advocacy, Ilana Spiegel is our choice for regent.
