FORT MORGAN -- Holy Family has the eighth seed in this year's class 3A football tournament and will hosst Pueblo South in the opening round this weekend. Game time has not been set.
The winner gets either Roosevelt or Thomas Jefferson in the second round.
Fort Morgan turned back Holy Family 49-30 on the Mustangs' field Nov. 5. in the regular-season finale.
HFHS sophomore quarterback Rylan Cooney was 15-for-35 for 271 yards and four touchdowns. Domonic Mazzulla caught two of the scoring passes and finished with six catches for 112 yards. Cooney also threw scoring passes to Matt Mccarthy and Chase McNaughton.
Jacob Lawver gained 98 yards on 19 carries.
Holy Family advanced to the state 4A volleyball tournament by beating Thomas Jefferson 25-13, 25-23, 25-14 in the regional tournament finals on the Spartans' floor.
The Tigers beat Roosevelt earlier in the tournament 25-14, 25-12, 25-12. No stats were available for either match.
