Fort Lupton celebrates 4th of July early .. and with a swim

Six-year-old Max Turek has the right idea on a warm July 2 .. ride a water slide at the city of Fort Lupton's annual July 4 party at the Fort Lupton Recreation Center. In addition to the water slide, there was face painting, bounce houses, skeeball, music (including a set from Fort Lupton native Kimi Most), plenty of food and fireworks.

The city celebrated July 4 a few days early with a traditional Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 2, featuring a waterslide, food vendors and topped off with a fireworks show.
