On the Mat magazine released the first batch of boys wrestling rankings this week. Here's a look at who made the list ..
Class 3A:
106 pounds: 1. Brayden Bach, Holy Family, finished sixth in state as a freshman. 3. GAbe Archuleta, Skyview, lost in a wrestleback at this weight at 106 mpounds as a sophomore.
113: 9. Donovan Birmingham, Fort Lupton, placed fourth n the regionals in this weight in 2021
120: 5. Ezra Herrera, Skyview, won 44 of 60 matches as a sophomore; injkured in 2021
126: 6. Matthew McCarthy, Holy Family, finiished fourth in the regionals last year, qualified for state as a sophomore
138: 2. D'mitri Alarcon, Fort Lupton, won state at 126 pounds in 2021, took second in the Fargo Cadet Greco-Roman tournament in 2021. 4. Isaac Obarra, Skyview, won 19 of 22 matches in 2021.
145: 7. Danny Rodriguez, Fort Lupton, won 15 of 21 matches in 2021
152: 12. Will Alvarado, fort Lupton, fifth in the regionals as a freshman, compiled a record of 14-8 as a sophomore
182: 12. Alex Mata, Fort Lupton, won 20 of 24 matches a hyear ago and took fourth in the regionals
195: 4. Brandon Gutierrez, Skyview, qualified for state a year ago, posted a record of 12-5
220: 7. Kayden Derbigny, Fort Lupton, was 16-7 a year ago and took fourth in the regionals. 8. Abram Moore, Holy Family, took fourth in the regionals a year ago, posted a record of 16-4.
Class 4A
106: 7. Mikey Medina, Riverdale Ridge, was 5-3 last year
113: 3. AJ Hague, Riverdale Ridge, was fourth in state last year; posted a mark of 14-3.
120: Alex Carrillio, Frederick. placed fourth at 113 pounds a year ago, was 22-3
138: 6. Dominic Cerda, Riverdale Ridge, qualified for state as a freshman
182: 17. Miochael Espindola, Frederick, finished fourth in the regionals last year, record of 14-5
Class 5A
106: 5. Nicholas Vasquez, Adams City, third in the regionals in 2021; posted a record of 13-4
113: 1. Ane'e Vigil, Prairie View, won state at 106 pounds a year ago, record of 18-3. 8. James Escalera, Northglenn, took third in the regionals a year ago, record of 12-7
120: 8. Josiah Gallegos, Brighton, third in the regionals in 2021, record of 18-4. 9. Josiah Alvarado, Prairie View, injured last year, took fifth at 120 pounds in 2020. 12. chris Moreno, Thornton, won 10 of 17 matches last year, state qualifier in 2020.
126: Solomon Smouse, Brighton, took third in the regionals last year .. mark of 15-4. 13. Jaxson Lopez, Adams City, fourth in the regionals at 120 pounds a year ago.
132: 5. Kyle Lewis, Mountain Range, sixth place at 120 pounds in 2020, state qualifier in 2019. 8. Brennan Joiner, Legacy, third in the regionals a year ago, record of 7-1.
138: 6. Jace Long, Adams City, qualified for state in 2021 but did not compete; state qualifier in 2020.
145: 3. Sam Rock, Brighton. fourth in the regionals last year, mark of 15-6. 4. Seth Deaguero, Adams City, third in the regionals last year, posted a record of 13-7

160: 6. Tyson Moffitt, Adams City, placed third in the regionals last year .. record was 17-3. 9. Izaiah Schoepp, brighton, third in the regionals last year, mark of 16-5. 12. Quinn funk, legacy, fourth in the regionals last year, finished with a 7-5 record
170: 4. Daniel Long, Adams City, qualified for state last year
182: Bryson Porta, Prairie view, placed fourth in the regionals last year, finished 16-5
220: 1. Dylan bravo Packer, Brighton, second in the state at 220 pounds each of the last two years; finished last year at 22-1 7. Micah Ortiz, Adams City, state qualifier a year ago, finished 15-7
285: 6. Cy Renney, Adams City, fourth in the regionals in 2021, record of 14-6. 7. Scott Hill, Horizon, did not compete last year, took fifth in the regionals as a freshman, finished that season with a mark of 30-15.
