Around 10,000 ducks made their way down Plum Creek, capping off the 25th Annual Ducky Derby event hosted by the Castle Rock Rotary Club.
Since the June 13 release, the winners’ numbers have been announced for the first 10 ducks to cross the finish line. Rotary Club members say winners have until July 31 to show their winning tickets to receive funds that range between $50 for 10th place and $200 for first place.
During the June 25 council meeting, Castle Rock Mayor Jason Gray said he was impressed with the turnout for the derby, noting that it is nice to see community events getting back to normal.
Gray thanked the Rotary and town staff for the work it took to get downtown ready to host thousands of visitors.
