Country Financial has honored the Denver Fire Department with an Operation Helping Heroes award and a $1,500 donation to Denver Fire Station 22, 3530 S. Monaco St., to purchase gear and equipment.

“We truly see how dedicated and hardworking these men and women are and what they do every day to help our community,” said Tera Hodson, an insurance agent with Country Financial, in a news release.

Country Financial is a group of U.S. insurance and financial services companies that offers a full range of financial products and services from auto, home, business, farm and life insurance to retirement planning services, investment management and annuities.

The Operation Helping Heroes program was created in 2015 to support nonprofit events and programs that benefit active-duty service members, veterans and their families. The program was later expanded to include first responders and teachers.
