The first court appearance for the man accused of impersonating a police officer is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, in Adams County District Court.

Jose Flores Ortiz, 37, also faces charge of prohibited use of a weaspon, driving under the influence and reckless driving, among others, according to the Adams County District Attorney's Office.

Authorities said Ortiz tried to pull over an off-duty Adams County sheriff's deputy just before Labor Day. It happened on I-76 between Bridge Street and Bromley Lane.
