AURORA -- Fairview scored nine runs in the first two innings and beat Legacy 12-2 in five innings of the consolation round of the state 5A baseball tournament June 19 at Eaglecrest High School.
The loss ends the Lightning's season. LHGS posted a record of 13-7.
Adam Moser had a three-run home run in the second inning and added a run-scoring double in the third. He finished with six RBIs. Greysen Carter added run-scoring doubles in both the second and third innings, and J.D. Jones contributed a run-scoring single. He had four RBIs.
Cale Claridge's scoring fly ball added a run for Legacy in the third inning. Kieran Gaffney contributed an RBI double in the same inning.
Fairview's starting pitcher, Finley Daescher, threw a three-hitter and struck out five. Macully Sehr struck out two in 2 1/3 innings of pitching.
