Class 5A baseball playoffs: Legacy makes the field


AUrORA -- Legacy High School's baseball team made the class 5A regional baseball playoff field. its tournament at Regis Jesuit High School starts at noon Monday, June 14, with a game against Grand Junction. The winner faces the host Raiders.

The Lightning's top hitter during the regular season was Macully Sehr. His batting average was .386. He had three extra base hits and seven RBIs. Brandon Sanchez had a .360 batting average during the regular year. Seven of his 18 hits were for extra bases, and he drove in seven runs. Cale Claridge led the squad with 19 RBIs.
Pitcher Connor Murray struck out 27 batters in 26 innings. Landon Sehr had 33 strikeouts in 22 innings and a team-leading earned-run average of 3.19.

Two wins put Legacy in the double-elimination portion of the state tournament. That begins Friday, June 18.
