Class 4A regional baseball: Holy Family gets fourth seed


AURORA -- Holy Family will host a class 4A regional tournament June 14. The Tigers face either Douglas County or Elizabeth at 2:30 p.m. for a spot in the double-elimination portion of the state playoffs. DCHS and Elizabeth play at noon.

The Tigers finished the season with a record of 15-1. Izaak Siefken led the team with a .500 batting average. Half of his hits were for extra bases. He also drove in 24 runs. Ryan Chacon batted .386 during the regular season. He had four home runs and drove in 20 runs.
Blake Hammond took care of the majority of the Tigers' pitching needs. In 26 2/3 innings, Hammond struck out 45 batters and allowed just 17 hits. Siefken struck out 56 batters in 25 2/3 innings of work. He allowed just 15 hits.
