Clark named second principal at Riverdale Ridge High School

27J Schools tabbed Cody Clark as the new principal at Riverdale Ridge High School,. effective July 1.

Clark will replace Terry Elliot, the first principal at the 4-year-old school, which is the newest school in the district. Its first graduating class was in 2021..

Clark comes to RRHS by way of The Academy of Charter Schools in Westminster. He's been in that post for nine years. Before that, Clark was the school's assistant principal/athletic director and secondary dean of students. Clark was a middle-level physical education teacher at Peak to Peak Charter School in Boulder. He also spent two years as a teacher at Community Leadership Academy Charter School in the Adams 14 School District.

 

A district statement said Clark recognizes he’s coming to a school that has established a strong sense of commitment, high expectations for performance and relationships, and a great track record of being able to adapt to shifts and changes.

 

“Riverdale Ridge High School is a school that has already set the bar high. It’s got a lot of positive things going for it,” Clark said in the statement. “I’m excited to come in and meet students, staff and families where they are and work together to determine where we want to continue building. I value the work the students and staff have already poured into the school to make it a shining example of quality and excellence. I want to build on that tradition.”

 

Clark has a bachelor of arts degree in human performance and sport with an emphasis on K-12 education from Metropolitan State University of Denver. He earned his master's degree in administrative leadership and policy studies at the University of Colorado-Denver.

“I’m a big relationships and community person. I believe in investing in people,” Clark said.
