Casa Caliente provides authentic Mexican cuisine with recipes sourced from Monterrey, Mexico. There is also a fully stocked bar in the family-owned restaurant. The entire menu is made in-house, minus two items, and the bar is packed with over 170 bottles of tequila and 35 bottles of whiskey and vodka. Every customer receives three types of salsa with homemade corn chips upon being seated at the restaurant. They serve many different food options, including fried jalapeno cream poppers, crispy chili rellenos and grilled casa fresca salad. Their menu also includes a section for house specialties like their Chili Verdeplate. The restaurant is open seven days a week, starting at 11 a.m.

History

Owners Sara and Tim Rasmussen opened Casa Caliente in December 2011. The idea struck Tim when he was eating dinner with Sara at a family-owned restaurant 30 minutes from their home. He noticed that a family from his children’s school was also eating there and figured if both families were willing to drive this far for a family-owned restaurant, then he should be able to create a thriving restaurant closer to their house. Sara began working as soon as they opened but started with office responsibilities. She became an expo and food runner after a few months and transitioned to a part-time bartender position. Sara now works as the main bartender and loves interacting with customers.
