Born and raised in Chicago, Luke Zarzecki (he/him) comes to Colorado by way of New England. He graduated from the University of Vermont in May 2021 and won the F.T. Kidder Medal, which is “presented to the senior male student who best exemplifies the qualities of character, leadership and scholarship,” one of the university-wide awards given to graduates.

Prior to covering Northglenn, Thornton and Westminster for Colorado Community Media, he wrote stories for The Mash (the Chicago Tribune’s high school student newspaper,) VTDigger, Vermont Sports Magazine and multiple local newspapers in Vermont. He also served as a contributing editor for Headwaters Magazine.

Luke enjoys skiing, running, hiking and exploring all of Colorado's unqiue nooks and crannies.
