Michael de Yoanna serves as Colorado Community Media's editor-in-chief. 
His career spans more than two decades and includes distinguished roles as both a reporter and editor, including eight years with KUNC-FM and Colorado Public Radio. His work has been recognized with dozens of statewide and national honors, including a shared duPont-Columbia Award with NPR for an investigative piece into the U.S. Army's mistreatment of combat soldiers struggling with mental health issues. 
For his role as KUNC news director during the historic #MeToo investigations at the state Capitol that resulted in a state representative’s expulsion by his peers, de Yoanna received the prestigious Sigma Delta Chi Award from the Society of Professional Journalists. 
A graduate of Metropolitan State University with a degree in political science and psychology, de Yoanna has helped mentor and guide the careers of up-and-coming journalists for Investigative Reporters and Editors Inc. and Report for America.  

A lover of the great outdoors, de Yoanna is a bicyclist. He also plays a “wild” electric guitar, enjoys trivia contests and soccer.
