Deb Hurley Brobst joined the staff of the Canyon Courier and the Clear Creek Courant in May 2008 after retiring from a 21-year career as a journalism professor and department chair at Metro State University Denver. Prior to that, she was a reporter at several papers in Wisconsin.

Originally from the Milwaukee area, Brobst moved to Colorado in 1987 and to Evergreen in 1989 where she and her husband, Bob, raised their two children. She is also a Jazzercise instructor, teaching and owning classes in Evergreen and Conifer for the past 30 years. Brobst loves to inform the community about everything happening in the mountain area.
