Legacy vs. Eaglecrest
Legacy, the No. 17 seed, knocked off 16th-seeded Eaglecrest 28-14 at the Stutler Bowl in Greenwood Village. The Lightning relied on the ground game in general and Tyler Anderson in particular to pull out the win. He carried the ball 30 times for 193 yards and a touchdown. Omari Bursey (six carries, 21 yards), picked up the other rushing touchdown.
Quarterback Devan Kircheval completed seven of his 10 passes for 55 yards and one score. Bursey, who caught three passes for 33 yards, was on the receiving end of the touchdown pass.
The Lightning (7-4) travel to the Stutler Bowl for the second round and a contest against undefeated and top-seeded Cherry Creek. No stats were available for the Raptors, who finished their season with a record of 7-4.
Legend vs. Brighton
Legend, the No. 10 seed, beat the 23rd-seeded Brighton Bulldogs 51-14.
The Titans scored 28 of their points in the second quarter and had a commanding 44-point lead at the intermission.
Quarterback Nick Farley was 6-for-7 for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Brian Doyle (two catches, 40 yards) and Noah Archuleta (one reception, 50 yards) were on the receiving end of Farley’s scoring tosses. Jaden Lawrence ran the ball 12 times for 74 yards and scored three times.
The Titans (8-3) will travel to play No. 7 Valor Christian (6-4) in the second round. No stats were available for Brighton, which ended its season with a mark of 5-6.
