LAKEWOOD, CO – The Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) Theatre Arts and Dance Department will present the classic children’s story Bunnicula, on October 26 & 27 at 7 pm, October 28 at 1 pm, November 2 & 3 at 7 pm, and November 4 at 1 pm, at the RRCC Theater. BUNNICULA is directed by Kelly Jo Eldredge, and produced by special arrangement with Plays for New Audiences.
This musical version of the popular children’s book is a great opportunity for the entire family to celebrate the fall season. Guest puppet artist Cyndi Parr worked with RRCC students to build the Bunnicula puppet, with a few fun surprises hidden in its fur.
BUNNICULA begins when the Monroe family goes to see the movie Dracula and discovers a cute little bunny on one of their seats. They bring him home, and that’s when everything gets a little weird. Vegetables start turning white and the family pets start acting strangely. Through a series of hilarious mishaps, the entire family learns the hidden secrets of their new furry family member. The story is told from the perspective of the family pets—Harold, the dog, and Chester, the cat.
