WESTMINSTER, CO – SEPTEMBER 15, 2023 – On Tuesday, September 19th, the Hyland Hills Parks & Recreation District will host a Grand Opening and Open House for the public to tour the new Hyland Hills Sports Center, located in Carroll Butts Park at 4201 West 94th Avenue in Westminster. The event will take place from 5:30 – 7:30 PM, with a Gymnastics Showcase and brief remarks beginning at 6:00 PM.

Previously home to the Carroll Butts Athletic Park Indoor Sports Arena, the nearly 50,000-square-foot facility now houses the Donald E. VanArsdale Gymnastics Center, a multi-sport gymnasium, a cardio and weight room, and multi-purpose rooms available for recreation programming and private event rentals.

During the Grand Opening and Open House, residents are invited to explore the facility and enter to win prizes from Hyland Hills including a free month of membership to the facility, tickets to Hyland Hills Water World, birthday party rentals, and more. Light appetizers and refreshments will also be provided, along with free balloon animals and airbrush tattoos for the kids.

“We are ecstatic to be opening our doors to the public,” said Yvonne Fischbach, Executive Director for Hyland Hills Parks and Recreation, “This project has been a high priority for our community and we look forward to serving people of all ages in this state-of-the-art facility.”

The Hyland Hills Sports Center will host drop-in pickleball, basketball, and volleyball hours as well as numerous fitness and recreation programs including youth gymnastics and SilverSneakers classes.
