The Parker Senior Center was able to raise more than $1,000 during their fashion show April 9.

The fashion show featured senior center members as models, refreshments and a chance to meet new friends.

“I think since we were shut down during COVID, everyone was so happy to be getting out,” said Jan Dengal, director of the senior center. “They were ready for some new clothes.”

Vicki’s Boutique, located in Castle Rock, brought clothes to the event at the senior center and gave 15% of the profits to the organization.

The senior center, located at 10675 Longs Way, is a nonprofit that serves as a community center for anyone over the age of 50 in Parker and beyond. They offer activities, exercise courses, events and outings.

This was the third time the senior center has held a fashion show and was “by far the best we’ve ever done,” Dengal said.

Organizers include Patsy DeLaSalle, Cathay Royal and Linda O’Brien. The event was from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m and tickets were $15.

“Everyone had the best time and we made some money for our center,” Dengal said.
