Tuesday, March 29 — Idaho Springs officers responded to the 1900 block of Colorado Boulevard for reports of a woman violating a protection order. She had fled the scene by the time officers arrived, but a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Wednesday, March 30 — An Idaho Springs officer was patrolling the 1500 block of Miner Street when he observed a man known to have an arrest warrant out of Clear Creek County for assault. The man was taken into custody.

Friday, April 1 — Empire police responded to a hit-and-run accident at a gas station. A driver accidentally struck part of the station’s parking structure, causing minor damage. The vehicle left the scene, but its license plate fell off at the gas station. Police issued a summons to the driver for the accident.

Sunday, April 3 — Idaho Springs police responded to the 2600 block of Colorado Boulevard for reports of shots fired. When officers arrived, they were able to safely secure the firearm. The woman handling the gun wasn’t familiar with it or how to safely secure firearms, and she accidentally fired the weapon to clear it. The hotel room was substantially damaged, and she was cited for illegal discharge of a firearm and criminal mischief.

Sunday, April 3 — Idaho Springs police responded to a burglary in the 2500 block of Colorado Boulevard. The suspect had fled by the time officers arrived, but a neighboring resident had observed him using illegal drugs and attempting to disarm the fire alarm system. A warrant was issued for the suspect, who was arrested a few days later by ISPD.
