The city of Brighton activated its CodeRED emergency alert system to notify the residents of Brighton in the event of an emergency, according to a press release.

“Landlines are not automatically in the system, but they can certainly be added,” said Stephanie Hackett, emergency management coordinator for the city of Brighton, in a press release.

To receive the alerts, the resident must register your phone and email information, and it’s free for those who work and live in Adams County. When receiving the CodeRed alert, the number 855-969-4636 will appear on the caller ID.

The system will send a test message at noon Monday, April 4. Residents’ profile information is not shared or distributed and used for emergency notification alerts.

In addition, residents who live on the borders of Adams County should register with neighboring county emergency notifications systems.

Register at https://www.brightonco.gov/357/Notifications. Select the “Register Here” link, create a profile, and enter contact information when on the website. Also, residents can call 303-655-8744 for assistance to register into the CodeRed system.
