FYI about mail-in ballots

Voters may think that by registering to vote with the county they’ll get a mail-in ballot application for all elections. This is not true. Special district elections require voters to submit a special absentee ballot to receive a ballot by mail. I have consistently advocated against this confusing process and worked with legislators to try and change it.

Though, the law may not have changed, special districts, like West Metro Fire, could still mail a ballot to every registered voter. This straightforward and fair concept is center to my campaign for the board. Though absentee ballots are not yet posted on the West Metro website, they are available on my website at: http://russellweisfield.com/absentee-ballot/.

Whether or not you vote for me, I strongly encourage you to complete this form and return it to jwheaton@westmetrofire.org by the deadline of April 22.
