CoorsTek has announced a series of upcoming community engagement meetings to help Golden residents better understand the company’s plans to rezone an industrial property it currently owns near 10th Street and Ford Avenue.

Residents hoping to hear from the applicant and comment on the proposed project have had to wait out back-to-back continuances.

After the city planning commission received more than 50 pages of public comment, CoorsTek Chief Executive Officer Michael Coors submitted an 11th-hour letter asking to postpone the Feb. 23 public hearing and continue the item.

Disappointed, CoorsTek representative Dan Cohen said the company would honor the community’s request for further public engagement on the matter.

The city released the following public engagement meeting schedule:

Virtual Community Meeting
5 p.m., March 10

This meeting will include a staff overview of the project, the area, and a process timeline. CoorsTek will present the zoning request and detail each topical section of its submission.

There will be a Q&A for each topic area, allowing the public to have a direct dialog with the applicant.

This meeting will be recorded.
