Jacoby Conway sank a last-second layup to give Frederick High School a 67-65 win over D’Evelyn Junior/Senior High School in the round of 16 at the state 4A boys basketball tournament.
The March 2 game was in Frederick. Alex Sturn topped the Warriors’ scoresheet with 16 points. Bryce Conover scored 14 points, and Luke Justice added 10. Max Grant led D’Evelyn in scoring with 21 points.
The win pushed the Warriors into a quarterfinal-round match at Mead at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 5. The Mavericks beat Riverdale Ridge 61-50 in another Sweet 16 round match March 2.
