The Colo;rado High School Activities Association announced the three finalists to replace Rhonda Blanford-Green as the next CHAA commissioner. THe decision from the board of directors is due Monday, March 7.
One of the finalists — Bethany Brookens — is the only in-house candidate. She’s been an assistant commissioner with CHSAA since 2008. Her responsibilities have included sveral sports and activities. She also serves on several statewide and national committees, including the Colorado Tennis Association board of directors, the Sportswomen of Colorado board of directors, the National Federation of High Schools’ music advisory committee and the NFHS volleyball advisory committee. Brookens also is the Title IX and Quity LIaison for CHSAA, She has a master’s degree in business administration.
Michael Krueger is the senior director of education for USA Football. He’s been a district athletic director for Aurora Public Schools and was a member of the Colorado Athletic Directors Association. Kruger was the athletic and activities director at Palisade High School, plus, he was trustee and mayor pro-tem of the Town of Palisade. He has a post-graduate degree in administrative leadership and policy studies.
Christopher Noll is the director of athletics, activities and physical education for Colorado Springs School District 11. He is on more than a half-dozen CHSAA committees — handbook, basketball, football, tennis, ice hockey, tournaments and playoff finance. He also is the present chairman of CHSAA’s football committee. Noll was the AD.business manager at Doherty High School, an assistant principal at Mitchell High School and the dean of students at Wasson High School. He has a master’s degree in school leadership.
