Monday, Feb. 7 — Empire police contacted a resident for having multiple indoor appliances sitting outside the residence, which is an ordinance violation. Despite multiple warnings, the appliances reportedly were not moved, and Empire police issued a court summons later that week.

Wednesday, Feb. 9 — Empire police responded to a suspicious-activity call along eastbound Interstate 70 near mile marker 232. A vehicle was in a ditch. Police determined that, sometime the night before, the vehicle was speeding while taking eastbound 232 exit to U.S. Highway 40 and slid off the road.

Wednesday, Feb. 9 — Empire police responded to a case of identity theft. A resident said his bank contacted him about two fraudulent checks that had been written on his account with false information, and a total of $9,800 had been withdrawn. The investigation is ongoing, and suspects are unknown.

Thursday, Feb. 10 — Idaho Springs police took a report of a lost firearm in the 3200 block of Riverside Drive. The resident located the firearm a few days later.

Thursday, Feb. 10 — The Sheriff’s Office received a call about suspicious activity in the 1500 block of Beaver Brook Canyon Road. A truck was parked in front of the neighbor’s home. It was later determined the truck was their son’s.

Friday, Feb. 11 — Georgetown police responded to a fight in progress at a business in the 1500 block of Argentine Street. One person was arrested.

Saturday, Feb. 12 — Idaho Springs officers took multiple reports of vehicle trespasses in the 2800 block of Miner Street. ISPD and other local agencies are working to identify the suspects.

Sunday, Feb. 13 — Georgetown police assisted Colorado State Patrol in responding to a vehicle that was stuck in a snowbank at Interstate 70’s Silver Plume exit. The individual in the vehicle was reportedly intoxicated and was taken into custody on suspicion of multiple charges.

Sunday, Feb. 13 — Idaho Springs police responded to a traffic accident along eastbound Interstate 70. The suspect vehicle reportedly struck the back of another vehicle, causing minor damage. The driver was cited for following too closely.

Sunday, Feb. 13 — An Idaho Springs officer responded to an accident on westbound Interstate 70. A truck’s trailer came unhitched, which caused the trailer to tip over and come to a stop along the highway. The trailer, which sustained moderate damage, was later towed.
