THORNTON — Golden’s Anna Vermeulen took second place in the 200-yard freestyle at the state 4A girls swimming and diving championships at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center. She finished with a time of 1:54.31.
She also was part of the Demons’ 200-medley relay team (Miranda Dove, Cate Logan and Nadija Rutar were the other swimmers) that finished sixth with a time of 1:53.83.
Wheat Ridge’s Lauren McLean finished third in the 500-freestyle (5:11.03) and was seventh in the 200- individual medley, where her time was 2:10.23.
