Tuesday, Jan. 18 — Idaho Springs’ SWAT officer assisted the Clear Creek Sheriff’s SWAT team with a call in Evergreen. A male fugitive had reportedly trespassed into a residence, and the team was able to apprehend him and take him into custody without incident.
Tuesday, Jan. 18 — An Idaho Springs officer responded to the 600 block of Miner Street for reports of an unwanted person. A couple was disputing over a civil property issue. The officer defused the situation, and one person left the residence and agreed to solve the matter in civil court.
Wednesday, Jan. 19 — An Idaho Springs officer was patrolling eastbound Interstate 70 near exit 241 when he observed a driver pass his patrol vehicle at 91 mph. The vehicle also entered the closed express lane. During the traffic stop, the officer also reportedly found the driver under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and reckless driving.
Wednesday, Jan. 19 — Idaho Springs officers responded to reports of a theft along 12th Avenue. The reporting party stated his personal belongings had been stolen while he was using the rec center. He was able to track his cell phone to a residence in the county. The belongings were returned to the owner, who declined to press charges.
Saturday, Jan. 22 — Empire police responded to a motor vehicle accident along U.S. Highway 40. Empire police took a report, and Colorado State Patrol responded to investigate.
Monday, Jan. 24 — Idaho Springs officers responded to an assault-in-progress report in the 2400 block of Colorado Boulevard. One party was arrested on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence.
Wednesday, Jan. 26 — Georgetown police conducted a traffic stop for a minor traffic infraction. During contact, police discovered the driver had a warrant for a parole violation on a previous homicide conviction. The driver was taken into custody.
Saturday, Jan. 29 — Empire police responded to a motor vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 40 near mile marker 245. Empire police took a report, and Colorado State Patrol responded to investigate.
Sunday, Jan. 30 — Idaho Springs police and Sheriff’s deputies investigated reports of an assault. By the time officers arrived, the suspect had fled the scene. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect, who’s wanted for suspected assault, harassment, and criminal mischief.
