Boys swimming
THORNTON –Here are Mountain Range’s results from the state 5A boys swimming and diving championships at Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center May 13-14.
200-yard medley relay team: 30. Ayden Hemann, Emel Omeragic, Alexander Martinez, Andrew Sawyer, 1:51.47. 100- freestyle: 43. Logan Harveson, 50.42. 400- freestyle relay: 27. L. Haverson, A. Sawyer, A. Hemann, A. Martinez, 3:30.25.
Track and field
Anthony Vieth of the Mustangs recorded a pair of top-seven finishes at the John Martin Invitational May 13 at Fort Collikns High School.
He was fourth in the discus with a best throw of 139-11 1/2, and he was seventh in the shot with a best effort of 41 feet 7 inches.
Baseball
Mountain Range scored three runs in the sixth inning and beat Brighton 5-1 on the Mustangs’ field May 9.
Victor Manuel Rodriguez had a base hit and two RBIs. Mark Cusick and Jace Valdez had two hits and drove in a run. Pitcher Jayden Hansen struck out seven in six innings of work.
Cannon Headley had one of the two Bulldogs’ hits, and he drove in Brighton’s only run.Zachary Perkins struck out eight in his four innings of pitching.
The Mustangs downed ponderosa 8-3 in Parker May 12 behind two hits and four RBIs from Landen Calabrese. Cusick had two hits and an RBI, as did Caden Kalkhorst. Dylan Carey had two hits and drove in a run for the Mustangs.
Mullen’s Mustangs beat Mountain Range’s Mustangs 9-4 in the regular-season finale May 14. Cusick had two hits and drove in three of Mountain Range’s runs. Rodriguez had two hits and the other RBI.
Dom Gamueda led Mullen with three hits and two RBIs. Sage Hurley and Trevor Moore had two hits and two RBIs, and andrew brady and Henry Stewart had two hits and drove in one run.
Lacrosse
PARKER — Legend downed Mountain Range 6-4 in the opening round of the state 5A boys lacrosse tournament May 11 on the Titans’ field.
No stats were available for the Titans. Nate Paulo and Ryan Menard split four of Legend’s goals.
