Girls lacrosse

LITTLETON — Heritage beat Horizon 16-5 in the opening round of the state 4A girls lacrosse tournament May 10.

Kaylie Moore scored three of the Hawks’ goals, and Maleah Sosa scored the other two. Brooke Shontz picked up the only assist.

No stats were available for the Eagles.

HHS finished the season with a record of 4-12.


Brighton survived a late rally and beat Horizon 9-8 in a non-league contest between two schools that will be in the same league next school year.

BHS had a five-run lead heading to the last of the seventh. But the Hawks put four on the board before the last out was recorded.

Garrett Chadwich had four hits and three RBIs for BHS. Isaac Rodriguez had a base hit and drove in a pair of runs. Isaac Gomez had a base hit and three RBIs for the Hawks. Jacob Olguin-Pacheco added two hits and an RBI.
