FEBRUARY STAFF BOOK PICK

Team Member: Michelle

Recommendation: “Wild Weather: Storms, Meteorology, and Climate” by M.K. Reed

Genre: juvenile nonfiction

Michelle says: This book explains weather and climate concepts in a way that everyone can appreciate. Science can seem scary and technical, but this book makes science fun, interesting, and accessible to everyday people.

Meteorology was my major in college. In fact, a climatology internship is what originally brought me to Colorado back in 1998. When I started working for CCCLD, I noticed there were graphic novels devoted to science and I had to experience it for myself firsthand. There were so many interesting books in Science Comics Series to choose from at JTML, but this one about meteorology was an obvious no-brainer for me. I really hope little kids (and big kids, too!) pick up this book and catch the weather bug!
