Denver’s annual Treecycle program has begun.

Treecycle offers Denver residents an opportunity to recycle their Christmas tree for free. The recycled trees are turned into mulch, which will be available to Denver residents in May.

The 2022 Treecycle collection runs Jan. 3-14. Trees can be set out for collection on your scheduled trash collection days. The program is only for real, natural trees — no artificial or flocked trees will be accepted. All decorations and lights must be removed before setting the tree out for collection.

For those unable to recycle their tree through the Treecycle collection, there are additional drop-off sites that will accept trees through January. They are:

  • Cherry Creek Recycling Drop-Off, 7352 E. Cherry Creek Drive South.
  • Havana Nursery, 10450 Smith Road.
