Parker’s Ice Trail in Discovery Park is back again this year with fire pits, hot chocolate and endless skating loops.
Dozens of skaters stepped out onto the ice Dec. 6, some using plastic walker-like devices tfor assistance and others grabbing the railing. While some kids held hands with their parents as they tried out the ice for the first time, others ventured out on their own, darting through the trail.
The ice trail is open daily with weekday hours from 5 to 9 p.m. On Saturday, the trail is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Sunday, the hours of operation are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
For kids 10 and under, admission is $6. For those 11 and over, the fee is $8. Skate rentals are $4.
The trail also offers multiple visit passes and group rates.
From Dec. 17 to Jan. 3, the ice trail will have special holiday hours opening between 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The ice trail will remain open throughout the winter depending on weather, according to a town spokesperson.
