The Elizabeth United Methodist Church is inviting community members to attend a celebration for the Rev. Teri Todd, who is retiring after serving the church as pastor for 13 years.
Anyone from the community wishing to attend the celebration for “Pastor Teri” is welcome. The gathering at the church will begin around 10 a.m. on Dec. 19, following the Sunday-morning worship service, with a potluck brunch and presentations honoring Rev. Todd.
The church is located at 255 W. Kiowa Ave. (Highway 86) in Elizabeth, just west of True Value, at the intersection of Highway 86 and Evans Boulevard.
Planning for the church began in 2008 and the church was founded in 2009 under Rev. Todd’s leadership as a campus/satellite church of Parker United Methodist. The church was officially named Elizabeth United Methodist in 2014.
The congregation met in many different locations until finally obtaining their own building in 2018.
Rev. Todd has been an active presence in Elizabeth and Elbert County over the years, as she has been involved in several different community organizations.
