Georgetown’s annual Christmas market is Dec. 11 and 12 in downtown. Enjoy the Christmas market reminiscent of Christmas 100 years ago, the St. Lucia procession and visits with St. Nicholas.

The fourth annual Book Nook will be in the Georgetown Community Center during the Georgetown Christmas Market. It will feature literature of all genres for kids, teens and adults.

The Empire Christmas celebration is Dec. 11 from 1-3 p.m. in Theobald Park.

Historic Georgetown will host A Snow Globe Christmas in the open-air Carriage House at the Hamill House from 5:30-7 p.m. Dec. 18. Learn about the history of the yule log with St. Nicholas, toast to friends and good cheer with a warm cup of wassail and hear the cherished story “T’was the Night Before Christmas.” Then, stroll to the library windows as we watch the candlelighting on the Christmas Tree. VOA TRANSPORTATION is available on Fridays to the Idaho Springs Safeway and the post office. The van leaves at 12:30 p.m. from 1402 Miner St., Idaho Springs.

COVID-19 VACCINES for adults and children 5-17, flu vaccines and other children’s vaccines are available from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesdays at the Clear Creek Health and Wellness Center, 1969 Miner St., Idaho Springs. Appointments are encouraged for COVID vaccines and boosters at www.comassvax.org/clinic/search, enter CLEAR CREEK in the Location Box, and there is no need to add any other information. No appointments required for flu and childhood vaccines.  

YOUNG PEOPLE 12 TO 20 can get free counseling through an Evergreen-based organization called Resilience1220. Comprised of licensed therapists, Resilience1220 serves individuals and groups in the foothills including Clear Creek County. They also facilitate school and community groups to build life skills in wellness and resilience among youth.
