EPRD starts search for
new executive director
The Evergreen Park & Recreation has begun its nationwide search for a new executive director.
The board of directors on Nov. 16 approved a job description and created a search committee that will screen applicants. The executive director position is vacant because Ellen O’Connor resigned earlier this month to pursue other interests.
The board is looking for someone who can provide overall direction and strategic leadership for the district, with knowledge of budgets, the ability to work with other groups and a “realistic visionary who can plan and implement new, fiscally responsible recreation opportunities for the district on a continuing basis,” according to the job description.
The board is looking for someone with a degree in business, public administration, park and recreation management or a related field, a minimum of 15 years of work experience with eight years in management.
The salary range is $118,000 to $185,000, and board members Monty Estis and Peter Lindquist will serve on the search committee along with the district’s human resources director and another district employee.
