I had to write to object to the latest issue of the Arvada Press in which the young police officer who accidentally shot John Hurley was not only named but was shown in a photo. They cleared him of any wrongdoing in the incident and I’m sure he has been in his own personal agony over what happened but you guys chose to add to that by making him a public figure. I will not be at all surprised if he moves out of the area or perhaps leaves the police force altogether. There was no need to identify him, as no charges were filed against him. I feel it was poor judgment on the Press’s part to name names in this case. Please consider things from the innocent people’s point of view!
