“Truth, Beauty and Power: Christopher Dresser and the Aesthetic Movement” will open soon at the Kirkland Museum — opening delayed by a burst water valve. In the meantime, a virtual “360 Degree Tour” is available. The website will advise when open. The museum’s collection includes a five-legged Dresser chair assembled by founding director Hugh Grant. The Kirkland Museum of Fine and Decorative Art is at 1201 Bannock St. in downtown Denver, with parking just west of the building. kirklandmuseum.org.

Weather delay

The Athena Project art installation “Women in Their Infinite Forms” and its opening Art Strut in Denver’s Dairy Block were delayed a week when the skies opened up with heavy snowfall on March 14-15.

Painting workshop

Heritage Fine Arts Guild presents a painting workshop covering two half-days, “Loosen Up” with artist Bob Burridge, from 9 a.m. to noon on April 30 and May 1, via Zoom. Lone Tree Arts Center

The annual Commissioner’s Choice Exhibit, juried by Colleen Fanning, called “Into the Rearview Mirror: A Look Back at 2020,” will be on display through May 23. Hudson Gardens

“Native Bee Hotels: Make Your Own” will be a virtual class by CSU Horticulture Agent Lisa Mason on March 31. Register at HudsonGardens.org ($30 member) and a Zoom link will be sent by email. Supplies will be available at Hudson Gardens’ shop a week before the class. Class will cover biology of native nesting bees, maintenance tips to keep bees happy and healthy and other ideas to create pollinator habitats in your landscape.

The 57th Friends of the Littleton Library/Museum Annual Creative Writing Contest is underway for grades 1-12, closing at midnight March 27. Judges will be Arapahoe Community College English Faculty members. Visit friendslittleton.org for entry details.

‘World of Color’

“World of Color” by Littleton Fine Arts Guild members, is open at Stanton Gallery, Littleton Town Hall Arts Center, 2450 W. Main St., downtown Littleton (and online). Dance in Lakewood
