AURORA — The Colorado High School Activities Association announced the locations for this year’s regional wrestling tournaments. They are set for Friday and Saturday, March 5 and 6.

In class 3A, Fort Lupton and Conifer travel to Severance High School, while Holy Family, Alameda and Arvada high schools make a trip to Bennett High School.

In class 4A, Riverdale Ridge, Standley Lake, Evergreen, Bear Creek and Wheat Ridge high schools head to Discovery Canyon High School in Colorado Springs, while Frederick and Golden high schools compete at Loveland High School. Littleton’s regional tournament is at Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs.

In class 5A, Brighton hosts one of the regional tournaments. Prairie View, Legacy, Westminster, Highlands Ranch and Thornton high schools are expected to send teams. Adams City, Northglenn and Horizon high schools compete at Doherty High School in Colorado Springs.

Arvada West and Mountain Range high schools travel to Pomona. Valor Christian and Ralston Valley high schools compete at Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora.

Thanks to coronavirus, the format for the boys tournament is different this year. Half of the regional will finish March 5, and the other half will conclude March 6. The top two finishers in each weight class move to the state tournament, which is Friday and Saturday, March 12 and 13, in Pueblo.

CHSAA also announced the location for one of its two girls regional wrestling tournaments. That was Fort Lupton High School. CHSAA will use the same split schedule for the girls tournaments — one half the first day and one half the second day. The top four finishers in each weight class move to the state tournament — Saturday, March 13, in Pueblo.
